Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal was appointed to Statkraft Group Management in 2020 as Executive Vice President (EVP) for the business area European Wind and Solar and held the position as EVP for the business area Nordics from 2022 until she was appointed CEO of the company.
Ringstad Vartdal came to Statkraft from the position as CEO in Golden Ocean. She has also worked as CFO in Golden Ocean, held various management positions in Torvald Klaveness Group and worked for Norsk Hydro's energy division. She has several board positions. She holds a MSc in Physics and Mathematics from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim and a MSc in Financial Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
